Fresh Meat -TV Review

A group of students starting at Manchester University, each unable to get accommodation in halls, are placed randomly together in a share house. There’s a mysterious student who lives upstairs who no one has seen; a cool, rock chick who seems to take everything in her stride; a girl who is constantly attempting to be what she thinks the others would believe is cool; two seemingly ‘normal’ teenagers who are bound to fall in love, or at least in lust; a weird guy who has been in the house for two years and a massively posh guy.

The first episode didn’t grab me – it seemed that all of the characters were over the top and annoying, and that much of the humour was forced. But, I persevered and was already won over by the second episode. It’s funny and it’s quirky – not laugh out loud the whole way, but there were a few guffaws.
