Two Years At Sea (2011) MIFF Film Review

images-8

Filmmaker Ben Rivers follows a Scottish hermit as he makes his way through his day-to-day life. It is very much fly-on-the-wall, with extended scenes of everyday events such as teeth brushing and sleeping.

The scenery is beautiful, but overall, it is just not that interesting.  I like to be informed in documentaries – whether it is about on a person’s life, or a place, or an event, or whatever. The only thing that I was informed of in this was that this man does stuff. I don’t need to watch someone doing stuff.
