Serangoon Road – TV Review

serangoon road

Set in Singapore in the 1960s, Serangoon Road is a curious mix of genres. The main character, Sam, (John Hany) does some work for a local detective group whilst conducting an affair with the wife of one of the Aussie diplomats. There are lots of cases and Sam solves them.

What I really like about this is that it is an extremely unusual setting for a crime show. Singapore, 1960s. Nothing is what you expect and the level of corruption is intense which makes the cases less predictable than a usual crime show, and Sam seems more flawed that your average crime solver.
