The Woman in Black (2012) Film Review

Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) is a lawyer whose wife died in childbirth and he is suffering from depression, but it is many, many years ago and so he just has to battle through. He’s about to be fired from work, but just if he manages to finish off this one case, things will be okay. So, he travels to a small town where everyone is weird – avoiding him and giving him dirty looks – everyone expect Sam Daily (Ciaran Hinds) and his wife, Elizabeth (Janet McTeer). So he goes to the house that is haunted and things get a bit scary.

I think this is a pretty awful film. It’s certainly beautiful, and extremely scary when it wanted to be. But, overall, the acting is tedious throughout, the script is lacking, it’s just a bit crap. If you want to have a scare, watch this in the dark alone and that’ll be fun, but really, not worth it.
