The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison – Book Review

The Bluest Eye is set in 1941 and tells of Pecola Breedlove, of her parents, of her experience at school and in town. The title comes from Pecola’s wish to have the bluest eye as she sees the blue-eyed students in her school as the most beautiful. But this is just one part of the story. The book is told in beautiful vignettes which weave the stories together. It is heartbreaking and beautiful and sad and wonderful.
