Holy Cow by David Duchovny – Book Review

Elsie is a cow who is unhappy with her life and so travels the world, joined by a pig and a turkey and ends up accidentally solving the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Sound good? It’s not.

I went in wanting to like this, but I really, really hated it. I had a look on Good Reads wondering what others thought and it has a 3.34 rating, and given how many 1-star reviews leapt up at me, clearly it’s a divisive book. For me, it was absurd yet not funny. It is a quick read, though, so I guess that’s something. David Duchovny has many other strings to his bow… I may let the uber-fans keep the books. One person gave a 5-star review even though she hadn’t read the book just because Duchovny met her son. I mean, bless, but it’s not that useful when trying to find something to read.
