And Fire Came Down by Emma Viskic – Book Review

This is the second book in the Caleb Zelic series. The first book, Resurrection Bay, left Caleb quite wrecked after losing his best mate, his partner in his detective business and his wife – to death, betrayal and life. And Fire Came Down starts with a young woman pleading for his help before being killed, and Caleb going to all lengths to try to work out who she was and why he couldn’t save her.

Caleb is flawed in many ways, but ultimately, he is honourable. And while this gets him into some horrific situations, it’s what I want from a hero. Someone who doesn’t give up when things get difficult, who won’t stop until answers, no matter how unsatisfying, are found.
