It was a while since I’d read The Hate U Give, and so it took a while to make the connections between the two books, but Thomas quickly drew me back into this world and it didn’t really matter. Concrete Rose tells the story of Star’s (the protagonist from The Hate U Give) father. We knew bits of his story from the first book, but it was a story that begged telling. I love this world that Thomas has created and I’m so keen for more.
