The Late Show by Michael Connelly – Book Review

Renee Ballard is a cop who works the night shift because she tried to go up against a superior who was harassing her. When she catches a shooting in a nightclub, the case is taken over by the day shift, but Ballard is not prepared to give it up.

If you like action, cop genre books, this is for you. It’s got a compelling but troubled protagonist, a system that needs to be bucked, crimes which are not getting the attention they deserve, and add in a decent amount of violence and intrigue. Of course, this is to be expected of Connelly, the writer of over thirty bestsellers.
