Sloane (Emma Roberts) and Jackson (Luke Bracey) are long-term single folks who are sick of having to find dates for all the holidays, so decide to be each other’s dates, just for show. It’s a romantic comedy, you can probably guess where this is heading.
This could have been amazing. It had so many of the right ingredients… decent casting, ridiculous yet plausible plot. Yet… it just didn’t quite work. The humour wasn’t there enough. The best way I can describe it is that it felt like the writers and the directors had two different visions about what the film was, and they just didn’t quite meld.
