When Spencer (Barry Keoghan) and Warren (Evan Peters) discover that their university library has some incredibly rare and extremely valuable books, they decide to plan a heist, enlisting a couple of mates. Four teenage boys. It’s an amusing plot. However, it’s actually a true story, and the fictional story is broken up by interviews with players from the actual events.
I liked the structure of the film, especially because it allowed them to touch on just what a shit thing they did that ruined a lot of lives. Yes, it was funny and fun for a long time, but when it comes down to it, this isn’t Ocean’s 11 or some other slick heist movie. In real life, things can be messy.
