The Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl by Belle de Jour – Book Review

I’m not sure how I ended up with this book. I’m always up for a bit of scandalous titillation, so I thought the diary of a call girl could be fun. Well, nope. I mean, yes, there were a few fun bits here and there, but generally it was pretty boring. Perhaps when it came out in 2005, it may have been exotic, but it seemed trite, there was too much talking about her boyfriends and ex-boyfriends and her thoughts on stuff which I really wasn’t interested in. What I did find interesting was the daily grind that she describes. Of course, things have changed a lot – the internet barely existed in 2005 (well, it was around, but nothing like now) and I think maybe even attitudes to sex and sexuality. Although attitudes to call girls? Hard to say. I hope so.
