The Good, The Bad, the Weird (2008) Film Review

This 2008 South Korean film was recently screened on SBS. It is billed as a comedy/western, and it is hilarious.

Two bandits and a bounty hunter are working against each other in the pursuit of a treasure map, however it is not just the three of them. There is also a Chinese war gang and the Japanese Army. It is set in the 1940s, and I can’t help thinking that the Japanese Army would probably have had a few other things on their mind, but perhaps I underestimated the power and the reach of the Japanese Army.

It is a totally hilarious action film with loads of shooting, explosions and craziness, true to the excellent nature of the South Korean films I’ve seen in the past. Definitely worth tracking down.
